We Connect Volunteers With Nonprofits
Each year, BVU Maryland engages thousands of volunteers in service to the community, making a difference in meeting critical needs. Volunteer Central, BVU Maryland’s volunteer center, strives to connect both individual and group volunteers to nonprofit organizations through referrals, events, and direct service programs.
Volunteer Central’s services include:
- Volunteer Referrals – Volunteer Central maintains a database of over 500 local nonprofit organizations seeking volunteer referrals for one-day events and short- or long-term volunteer assistance. Two newsletters are available to publicize volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups, corporate teams, and youth.
- Monthly “Hands On” Calendar Projects – Throughout the year, Volunteer Central offers a variety of direct service projects in partnership with local nonprofits, making volunteering accessible, flexible, and fun for busy individuals who want to get involved. Each project is assigned a trained Volunteer Central project coordinator who will provide additional volunteer leadership and outreach assistance.
- List Serv – Volunteer coordinators and other nonprofit staff have an opportunity to join an online network to share volunteer ideas and to strategize solutions for volunteer challenges.
